Amset Technical Consulting has hired Kevin Hantosh, E.I., as a technical loss consultant. The forensic engineering and investigations company is based in Mount Prospect, Illinois, and focuses on electrical and mechanical related insurance claims. Hantosh earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Northern Illinois University.
Dale Jans, P.E., is serving as the 201112 president of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying. A member of the South Dakota Board of Technical Professions since 1994, he is also president and majority owner of Jans Corp., a design-build firm in Sioux Falls. In addition to his professional work, he serves on the South Dakota State University Department of Civil Engineering's Advisory Board, as well as the university's council of trustees. Jans holds a bachelor's in civil engineering from the university.
Kathryn Gray, P.E., F.NSPE, has been elected 2013 chair of the American Association of Engineering Societies. Among her numerous volunteer leadership roles, Gray served as NSPE president in 200506 and as chair of National Engineers Week 2009. She is president and CEO of GrayTech Software Inc. in Wheaton, Illinois, which she founded in 1983 to provide low-cost CAD software. Gray also won the NSPE President's Award in 2009 for her work with EWeek.

Glenn Warburton, P.E., has been promoted from assistant vice president to vice president at ZNS Engineering. The multidiscipline consulting firm in Bradenton, Florida, specializes in public-sector projects, such as educational facilities and correctional institutions. Warburton has been with the company for more than 13 years as director of the Structural Engineering Department.
The National Safety Council has named James Kuhn, P.E., as a 2011 Rising Star of Safety. An executive vice president at Atlantic Testing Laboratories, headquartered in Canton, New York, Kuhn established a corporate safety team with the goal of improving safety culture through work routine and orientation programs. He has coordinated on daily reviews of safety with management and has reported on the results during monthly companywide teleconferences.
Dennis Sobota, P.E., has been appointed to a three-year term on the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Area Board. He joins the board in its responsibilities of reviewing requests on the area's ordinance, which affects property that drains into the Chesapeake Bay Watershed from Virginia Beach, Virginia. Sobota also works at Clark Nexsen as director of construction administration. His appointed term began January 1.
